The city of Agrigento, founded in 581 BC, was invaded by various tribes during its history. They left many traces, still visible today. The park of the temple's valley, for example, with an area of 1300Ha, conserves an heritage of antic and marvelous monuments. The remains of the antic city of Akragas are laying down as far as the sea. The valley, declared Humanity Patrimony in 1997, is the largest archeological complex of the Mediterranean sea. It is composed of various temples:" Templo di Giunone"," Templo della Concordia"," Templo di Eracle", "Templo di Zeus Olimpico," Templo di Castore e Polluce," Templo di Vulcano" and" Templo di Esculapio". They are preciously conserved. From Agrigento, we'll join the city of Piazza Armerina, located in the center of Sicily. This Medieval city presents a gorgious Baroc and Norman historical center. On the territory of Piazza Armerina, we can visit the famous "Villa Romana del Casale", declared Humanity Patrimony in 1997.
