This excursion in west Sicily will bring you to the discovery of the archeological park of Sigesta, the medieval village of Erice and the marvelous "saline di Trapani" (salt marsh). Still today, the salt marsh is in activity and ,as a natural reserve, offers a refuge every year to numerous and various specimens of birds. After this visit, we'll join the medieval Erice with its streets rich in churches and little houses, the "castello di Venere" (Venere castle) from where you'll be fascinated by the view to the Egadi's island and the north coast of Sicily from Trapani to Palermo. Erice, located at the altitude of 750 m, was declared as one of the most beautiful village of Italy. It's in Erice that you'll enjoy to taste the "Genovesi", a dessert made of pasta and cream, or the delicious "cassatelle ericine" with our ricota. We'll arrive at the end of our excursion in the Archeological park of Segesta with its Greek Theater and its temple of Segesta, two unique monuments, preciously conserved, in a Doric style.
